Finding a place in Milan

Now - where to stay?

Universities normally have a housing office or a person that provides students with informations about accommadations. Some universities can also provide information on renting student apartments. Those are generally cheaper than the costs of accommodation on the privat market. Remember that most universities in Italy do not have halls of residence.

If you are considering to make your own arrangements, check the newspapers of the town for apartments or get in contact with a real estate agency. The agency can be helpful, but remember that they will charge a fee for finding the accommodation.

Another option - thanks to the internet - are websites that already offer you apartments.
Here are some of those pages:

But know that just because some apartments are listed doesn't mean they have the standarts you are used to. Some are only holiday apartments and don't have everything you need there. Read the reviews and try to get in contact with the person that owns the apartment that you're interested in to make sure everything is like you expect it to be.

Also it's always a plus if you contact the owner - maybe they will go down with the price if you consider staying for an extended period of time.
